stop the presses, kids. i found a china pattern. this was clearly the most important thing i could be doing in the midst of writing a dissertation, especially given that not only don’t i have a formal dining room, i actually don’t have a place to live in the US, and all my stuff is in storage in indiana. but it’s not like that stopped me from buying two couches while i was visiting home this month, and it sure isn’t going to stop me from drooling over this china.
this is from the salem china co., which was founded in 1898 in salem, oh. though this translucent china is my favorite, they made some really beautiful collections, and even a commemorative FDR plate that i’m also sort of coveting right now.
anyway, if anyone ever feels the irresistible urge to buy me china because, i don’t know, i’m cool or something, this is the one i love. one day, when i have a formal dining room, this will be in it, amidst my weirdo neo-classical stuff.
